Bal-A-Vis-X

Bal-A-Vis-X is a series of BALance, Auditory, VISion, eXercises of varied complexity, all of which are deeply rooted in rhythm.

The exercises are done using sand-filled bags, racquetballs, and sometimes balance boards.

Bal-A-Vis-X requires focused attention, demands co-operation, promotes self-challenge and fosters peer teaching.

At a first glance Bal-A-Vis-X might look like people just bouncing a ball or tossing a sand bag – but Bal-A-Vis-X exercises are far more complicated and precise. It is a learned, physical technique that when done properly will give you the results you are hoping to achieve.

With purposeful movement that incorporates multiple midline crossings in three dimensions, rhythmic and auditory based exercises, which enables the entire mind body system to experience the natural symmetrical flow of a pendulum. Improvements with balance, hearing, vision and brain/body integration can be achieved.

Bal-A-Vis-X was developed over 30 years by Bill Hubert of Wichita, Kansas, USA. Bill taught primary through to University levels for nearly 40 years. Much of that time was spent researching for answers to two questions:

Why do so many students struggle to learn?
What might enable them to function at their best rather than compensatorily?

The Bal-A-Vis-X programme answers both questions.
In 2005, Bill left the classroom to focus full time on Bal-A-Vis-X, training teachers, parents, occupational and physical therapists across the world to use with their students and children.
